Common questions
The voices sound robotic or muffled.
Cue speaks with the voices installed on your device, so quality depends on which English voices you have. To get the good ones:
- Open the Settings app
- Go to Accessibility › Spoken Content › Voices › English
- Download a voice marked Premium or Enhanced
- Reopen Cue — the new voices appear in Cue's own Settings screen
Cue warns you before a lesson if only low-quality voices are available. Apple gives apps no way to trigger that download directly, so it has to be done in the Settings app.
Why can I only learn ten phrases a day?
That is deliberate. Spaced, short sessions beat cramming, and the daily goal exists so that finishing feels like finishing. The first day allows more so you can get a feel for the app. Review is never capped.
Will my progress move to my other devices?
Yes, if you are signed in to iCloud. Cue mirrors your progress into your own private iCloud container, and merges what it finds on launch. Your device stays the source of truth, so nothing is lost if iCloud is unavailable. To turn it off, disable Cue in Settings › Apple Account › iCloud.
A sentence sounds wrong, or a quiz has two right answers.
Tap Report in the lesson's control bar and check the reasons that apply. It sends only the lesson identifier and the checkboxes you picked — there is no text field, and nothing about you is attached. Those reports are how bad content gets found and fixed.
What are the ads?
One optional rewarded video, offered at most once a day, only after you have finished the day's goal, and only if you tap to watch it. There are no banners, no interstitials, and no ads during a lesson. Ads are always requested as non-personalized.
In the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland you are asked for consent before any ad is requested; decline and none is ever shown. That choice can be changed later under Settings › Ad privacy options.
I bought a coffee tip. How do I restore it?
The tip is a one-off thank-you, not a purchase of content — it unlocks nothing, so there is nothing to restore. You can tip again any time from the Settings screen. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I delete my data?
Deleting the app removes the local progress log and settings. If you used iCloud sync, also remove Cue's data in Settings › Apple Account › iCloud › Manage Storage. See the Privacy Policy for what is and is not collected.
